HIGH SCHOOL THROWBACK: YOU WANNA BUMBLE WIT THE BEE, HUH?

I broke out the high school Lil’ Kim logo jacket yesterday and I swear when I put it on it gives me all types of life. I’m not one to keep anything for long periods of time but for some reason this joint made the cut. I had it custom made almost 13 years ago to match the Queen Bee decal I had on the back window of my car (#hoodrich). Hopefully me bringing it back sends Kimmy some positive vibes and she gets her ass back in the studio… for real for real this time. No more of that honey girl shit.

MOMENT: MY FIRST STYLING CREDIT – NICKI MINAJ’S SURPRISE PERFORMANCE IN TIMES SQUARE FOR THE NOKIA LUMIA 900

Friday night I had the opportunity to style the male backup dancers for Nicki Minaj’s surprise performance in Times Square. It was amazing. Shoutout to Gabe de Dios, one of Nicki’s stylists for making it happen. I put the dudes in black one-piece flight suits and some mid-level combat boots. Anyone that knew me back in my dancer days knows I’m a ride-or-die one-piece kinda guy if there ever was one, so it was pretty surreal seeing this for myself.

You can check the full performance here!

NEW COLLECTION FROM MELODY EHSANI: SPRING 2012 – PART 2

In case Spring 2012 Part 1 wasn’t enough to put a jones in your bones right through until next Winter, April 15th Melody Ehsani will release the second part of her Spring Collection and these pieces are on another level. For me it’s all about the huge neon lion chain – anyone that knows me knows I’m all about a lion and I love that it’s on a contrast black chain. I think the pineapple necklace and earring set are the perfect way to add some Summer lovin’ to your accessories drawer. The gold chain link bracelet is a must, and the fist full of LOVE rings just make it better and better. Check out some of my favorite images from the lookbook below:

Check out the rest of the shoot with model Bianca, photos by Mike Quian, hair and make-up by Alana Dawn & Azelle, and styling by Henry Harris on Melody’s Official tumblr here.

What will YOU be buying on the 15th?

CREWNECKS! CREWNECKS! CREWNECKS!

I’mmmmm really feelin’ crewneck sweatshirts lately. While everyone is running around worried about getting colored skinny jeans, don’t forget you also NEED a slew of a crewneck sweatshirts to go with. Most of them are a welcomed 80′s throwbacks like the Vision Street Wear by Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony or the Crunk City option from Karamloop.

Others like the Jeremy Scott Jukebox Trefoil Logo for adidas Originals, the Coca Cola stripe, and the faded Mickey Mouse crewneck offer a subtle nod to the 80′s (or the 50′s in the case of JS) with a focus on the logo. Either way, they’re here and ready to be worn.

WEEKLY WANT: TK SIGNATURE SUPRAS IN MAGENTA SATIN TUF

This TK Society model is one of my favorite sneaker models of all time. I like my high-tops to the sky and this new Magenta Satin TUF colorway from Supra that was just released is big time. I’m a fan of Satin TUF because they wear really well and I’m all about the addition of the neon yellow because a little neon never hurt nobody.

Check availability for this little gem at Factory413 and/or Karmaloop but act fast because they won’t be around long.

WALTER VAN BEIRENDONCK X LINDA FARROW PROJECTS

I copped these little ditties from famed eyewear designer Linda Farrow while I was in LA over the weekend… and I can’t get enough. They’re Walter Van Beirendonck X Linda Farrow Projects and they’re from her Summer 2010c collection, however I’m resurrecting them for MY Summer 2012 wardrobe. With the interchangeable lenses, the possibilities are endless and sure to take your summer look to the next level. My favorite has to be the permanent angry eye… or is it the spikes? I can’t really decide actually. Anyway…

Check out Miss Farrow’s collaborations with my boy Jeremy Scott here and secure your credit card in a block of ice in the freezer before checking out the rest of her collection here.
